(KTNV) -- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is blasting a doctor for saying that he could die in office if he makes a run for president.
Christie, a blunt-spoken Republican, is considered a strong contender if he decides to run for president in 2016.
And now, the doctor is firing back.
It all started on the "Late Show with David Letterman." First, Christie got lots of attention for taunting Letterman by eating a donut on his show.
Then, a former White House doctor went on CNN and said that obesity was not a joking matter and that Christie could die in office if he was ever elected to president of the United States.
Dr. Connie Mariano was in the White House medical unit from 1992 to 2001.
Christie then fired back by asking how the doctor could diagnose him from her office in Arizona and called her a "hack" and said that she just wants five minutes on television.
And now, late last night, Dr. Connie Mariano spoke up again.
Dr. Mariano said that it is sad that Christie chose to attack her personally, calling her a hack.
Christie says that until she knows more about his health personally that she should "shut up."
This morning, there is another person weighing in. Richard Simmons told CNN that if he had 15 minutes with Gov. Christie, he could turn his health around.
