Texas scientists working on birth control for men
(KTNV) -- There has been a breakthrough in developing birth control for men.
It's been tried before but there have always been too many nasty side effects. So, men have turned to their better halves to take care of business in the birth control department.
But now, thanks to some helpful mice and a few dedicated researchers at Baylor College of Medicine, there is talk of major progress.
JQ1 is different because it targets germ cells instead of hormones. So far, the mice that are using it are not showing any side effects.
However, some women are worried about the long-term effects that a birth control pill could have on the men.
Testing is still in the very early stages and clinical trials won't start for at least five years.
