Report: Passenger plane crashes in Kazakhstan
ALMATY, Kazakhstan (AP) -- News agencies in Kazakhstan say a passenger plane carrying more than 20 people has crashed outside of Almaty, the country's principal city.
Interfax cites the deputy governor of Almaty province, Amandyk Batalov, as saying the aircraft was flying Tuesday from the northern town of Kokshetau.
There are no immediate indications of casualties. Interfax said there were 15 passengers and six crew members on the plane.
This is the second major aircraft accident in Kazakhstan in the past month. In December, 27 people killed were killed when an An-72 military plane crashed near the southern city of Shymkent.
