More details emerge in Manti Te'o drama
(KTNV) -- The woman at the middle of the fake girlfriend hoax involving star Notre Dame football player Manti Te'o is speaking out.
We already know from the exclusive interview with ABC's Katie Couric that Te'o kept repeating the story of how his girlfriend died of leukemia even after he knew she really did not exist and it was not true.
Te'o told Couric that he didn't know what else to do.
Now the woman who says her picture was used to trick Te'o has told NBC News that a friend from high school is actually behind the hoax.
The full Couric interview airs later today.
Meanwhile, reporters are now chasing down the man believed to have put the fake profile online. He is reportedly holed up in his family's home.
