President Barack Obama sworn in for second time
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- It's a big day in Washington, D.C.
President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden were each sworn in for a second term.
Biden, with his hand placed on a family Bible, was the first to be sworn in by Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.
Obama was sworn in by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts. Obama placed his hands on two Bibles during the oath -- one used by President Abraham Lincoln and one used by the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
A crowd of approximately 600,000 assembled on the National Mall in front of the capital to observe the ceremony.
Both Obama and Biden were officially sworn in on Sunday during small, private ceremonies.
