(KTNV) -- The backlash has already started even before President Obama's scheduled announcement about gun control measures this morning.

Leaders in three states -- Kentucky, Texas and Oregon -- are fighting back.

Out of the state of Oregon, a letter is on the way to the vice president of the United States.

The sheriff of Lynn County is vowing that "any federal regulation enacted by Congress or by executive order of the president offending the constitutional rights of my citizens will not be enforced."

It is a similar story in the state of Kentucky.

A sheriff there is also saying he will not enforce any new gun control laws that he considers unconstitutional.

And in Texas, Congressman Steve Stockman says he will try to impeach President Obama if any new gun regulations are forced through using executive orders.

All of this backlash is to what is expected from the White House.

President Obama is expected to speak at about 8:55 a.m. this morning.
