Snapchat: An app that self-destructs your photos
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- In this ever-evolving, tech-savvy generation of smart phone aficionados, there's a new app around every corner.
What app is hot and heavy, right now? Say hello to "Snapchat." You could say, "All the kids are using it."
It's an app that allows you to point, snap and send photos that self-destruct in 10-seconds or less.
The sender gets to choose how much time passes before self-destruction. The idea of a silly, embarrassing (or inappropriate) photo vanishing into thin air, when you tell it to, is enough to entice users. It's getting the downloads to prove it.
Even Facebook couldn't knock it off the top of the charts. The Facebook "poke" app is almost identical to Snapchat. But, there's something about the app with a ghost sticking it's tongue out, that seems more exciting or scandalous?
Warning: some say that complete photo destruction isn't exactly true. There are ways that users can capture photos and videos they receive, in just a few seconds.
