Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- It's now illegal to keep more than four cats in a home in a small Kansas town.

The start of the new year marked the start of a new ordinance making it illegal for a household to contain more than four cats in Wellington, Kansas.

Previously, there was no limit to the number of cats you could keep inside a home.

But the Wellington Daily News reports police said 231 cats were picked up in November alone. Most of those cats were euthanized.

The Wellington ordinance also regulates the adoption of cats.

Do you think city leaders should be able to limit the number of cats you own? Do you think the ordinance is a good idea? Join the discussion on Facebook.
