House re-elects Boehner speaker as 113th Congress begins
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Despite grumbling in his own party, John Boehner has been easily re-elected to a two-year term as House speaker.
The vote came a day after blistering attacks from lawmakers, including Republicans, over Boehner's decision to cancel a vote on aid to victims of Superstorm Sandy. In the end, only 10 Republicans voted for someone else as speaker. Boehner received 220 votes. Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi got 192 votes.
