Police: Teens drugged parents to use the Internet
Rocklin, CA (KTNV) -- Two California teens are accused of drugging one of the girls' parents so they could use the Internet.
A Rocklin police spokesperson said the 15-year-old girl believed her parents' rule of shutting off the Internet at 10 p.m. was too strict. That's what prompted the girls to allegedly drug her parents to sleep.
The Sacramento Bee reports that the teen girls offered to pick up milkshakes for the unsuspecting mom and dad. Police said they loaded up the milkshakes with prescription sleeping pills.
The parents drank about a quarter of their milkshakes and fell asleep soon after.
They woke up feeling groggy and disoriented, prompting them to contact police.
The 15-year-old girl and her 16-year-old friend, who allegedly provided the sleeping pills, are both facing charges.
Police say if they weren't juveniles, they could be facing prison time.
It's not clear what punishment the two teens will face.
