(KTNV) -- Police in New York City are investigating why 31-year-old Aaron Greene and his girlfriend, 27-year-old Morgan Gliedman, had an arsenal of weapons in their apartment.
The scene at their apartment was so unstable and dangerous that the entire building had to be evacuated on Saturday.
Police had been investigating Gliedman for credit card fraud when they received a tip from another couple that know the suspects.
The cops say that their investigation turned up seven grams of a chemical called HMTD, a powerful explosive used in bomb making.
They also reported finding a flare launcher, sawed-off shotgun, dozens of shells, nine rifle magazines and various how to manual on building bombs and booby traps.
Potential targets or motives have not been determined.
Police say the couple has no known links to terrorist organizations.
