NEW YORK CITY -- The generosity of one of New York's finest becoming a good Samaritan for a homeless man has become a viral symbol of the holiday season.

The photo soon went viral and thousands of people left comments praising the 25-year-old police officer's compassion and generosity.

Officer DePrimo appeared on "Good Morning America" to talk about why he helped the man.
