Average shopper expected to spend nearly $750 on holiday goodies
Americans are expected to spend more money this holiday season.
The National Retail Federation said a survey conducted by Big-in-Sight predicts the average holiday shopper will spend $749.51 on gifts, decor, greeting cards and more this year.
That's up slightly from the $740.57 spent last year.
And the survey found many shoppers are buying for themselves, while they're out shopping for others.
The federation is forecasting holiday sales will increase 4.1 percent to more than $586 billion.
