Pettersen shoots course-record 63 in Korea
INCHEON, South Korea (AP) -- Suzann Pettersen shot a course-record 9-under 63 Friday to take a one-stroke lead after the first round of the LPGA's HanaBank Championship.
The Norwegian finished a shot clear of Sweden's Karin Sjodin at the Ocean Course in Incheon, with five players tied for third, two shots back.
Japan's Ai Miyazato, Spain's Azahara Munoz and the South Korean trio of So Yeon Ryu, Moon Hyun-Hee and Kim Ha-Neul all shot 66.
Playing in perfect conditions, Pettersen sank five birdies in the first six holes to make a strong start to the three-day event.
Defending champion and world No. 1 Yani Tseng had a 68.
