Federal regulators are looking into a steering problem involving the Hyundai Santa Fe.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said drivers can lose control of the vehicle.
No accidents have been reported.
The investigation covers about 70,000 Santa Fe SUVs from the 2011 model year and could lead to a recall.
The latest probe comes after regulators investigated reports of suspension failures in the Santa Fe back in 2008.
