Bus from Canada overturns on New Jersey exit ramp
WAYNE, N.J. (AP) -- State police say 23 people were hurt when a bus overturned on an interstate exit ramp in northern New Jersey.
Eight of the injured passengers were admitted to hospitals in critical condition following Saturday morning's crash in Wayne, though none of their injuries were considered life-threatening. The rest of the injured, including two young children, were treated for minor injuries.
Authorities say the commercial bus coming from Canada with 57 people aboard overturned, slid down an embankment and landed on its side.
The driver, who suffered a gash in his arm, told state police that he was cut off by another vehicle, though it was not immediately clear whether that caused the crash around 7:30 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 80.
