1 staffer killed, another injured in Colorado prison
CROWLEY, Colo. (AP) -- One staffer is dead and another was seriously injured in a disturbance at a state prison in southeast Colorado.
State prison spokeswoman Alison Morgan said the injuries occurred early Monday in the kitchen at the state prison about 45 miles southeast of Pueblo. Further details were not available.
The prison is on lockdown while state authorities investigate.
Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility houses about 1,000 male prisoners. It opened in 1987.
