Washington sniper was recently divorced military vet
ARLINGTON, Wash. (AP) -- A sniper killed over the weekend in a shootout with police 50 miles north of Seattle was a disabled military veteran who was recently divorced.
The Snohomish County medical examiner's office confirmed Wednesday it was 60-year-old Robert Edward Endrizzi and said he was killed by multiple gunshot wounds.
A sheriff's spokeswoman says two deputies are on leave for the investigation into Sunday's shooting in Arlington.
The Daily Herald reports Endrizzi was a recently divorced military veteran on disability who bought the blue one-story rambler in January.
His mother, Kathleen Endrizzi, of Mount Vernon, told KOMO her son took medication for bi-polar disorder.
A man in his 20s was shot in the leg in his driveway. A number of police vehicles and other cars were hit by bullets.
