Accuser returns for another Philly priest trial
PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- A former altar boy is slated to return to court to testify in a second priest-abuse trial in Philadelphia.
The 24-year-old says he was raped as a boy by two parish priests and his sixth-grade teacher. He's spent much of his later life addicted to drugs, but his lawyer says he's recovering.
The trial of the Rev. Charles Engelhardt and ex-teacher Bernard Shero is set to start Tuesday. The other person accused, defrocked priest Edward Avery, is in prison after pleading guilty to sexual assault.
Lawyers in the case cannot comment because of a gag order.
