Scientists may have discovered God Particle
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- It is a major discovery by scientists -- they think they may have discovered what put the "bang" in the Big Bang Theory.
Researchers at Cern in Europe say that they have found a sub-atomic particle that they think could be the so-called God Particle.
This is something that scientists have been working on for decades. The Higgs Boson, a particle named after the scientist who helped begin the search, could unlock the key to what gives all matter in the universe its size and shape.
This discovery was made by smashing atoms together at a high rate of speed and then examining what happens when at that moment.
The energy released in the experiment is similar to what we think happened during the Big Bang.
So, the question is what does this all mean? Scientists say it's going to take a while to answer that. This might change our understanding of what matter is and how the universe started.
But, a lot more research will need to be done.
