New "OMG Diet" book causes controversy
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A new diet called the "OMG Diet" is causing controversy.
One of the unconventional ways the OMG Diet claims you can lose weight is to take an ice bath every day.
The author also advocates skipping breakfast and exercising instead. And to burn fat faster, he suggests drinking two cups of black coffee a day.
Dieticians have an issue with the title of the book: "Six Weeks to OMG - Get Skinnier Than All Your Friends."
"I think this is absolutely one of the worst fad diets I've ever seen, because it's targeting young people, it's targeting teens and also because just some of the points in the book are built on horrible habits," said registered dietician Keri Glassman.
The author says the book is for adults and vigorously defends his diet, saying anything is better than nothing since so many people are overweight.
