Children taken off the streets in national prostitution sting
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Close to 80 children have been taken off the streets after a nationwide prostitution sting.
The FBI says agents rescued 79 minors with the help of state and local police over a three-day period.
They tracked them at hotels, truck stops and store fronts.
Authorities say the teens were held against their will and forced into prostitution.
The operation included 2500 officers in 57 cities across the country. It ran from last Thursday until Saturday.
The kids- ages 13 to 17 years old- are being held by police until they are placed with child welfare organizations.
