UPDATE JUNE 27: Even more dead chickens have been found, now seen near Washington and Owens avenues.

UPDATE JUNE 26: More dead chickens were found inside two pet food bags dumped on the side of the road near Bonanza Road and Hollywood Boulevard.

Neighbors called Animal Control and they were told live animals take priority over dead animals but they will get an officer out to pick up the bags as soon as they can.

ORIGINAL STORY

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) -- People living in east Las Vegas want answers as dead animals continue being dumped in their neighborhoods.

13 Action News startedlooking intothe issue after at least three dead chickens were found near Bonanza and Fogg in late May.

Since then more chickens, and even a goat, have been reported by viewers living in the same general area.

"People should have, they should think before they even do these nasty things! It's despicable," said eastside resident Jenni Hester.

Animal control has not made a determination as to where the chickens are coming from, but are aware of the issue.

13 Action News reached out to Chris Caracci, a former law enforcement investigator, who said he understands why residents are scared, but doesn't think the people responsible meant any harm.

"When we see this happen with it being a chicken or a goat the first thought comes to my mind is something cultural, is this something that belongs to a religious ceremony perhaps," Caracci said.

It is illegal to dispose of animals in this manner.

Clark County Animal Control continues to investigate.
