One man was rescued during a house fire at 3853 East Reno Avenue, near Tropicana Avenue and Sandhill Road.
The fire started around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday. Shortly after arriving at the scene, firefighters discovered a man on the roof of the house. Crews placed a rescue ladder and safely removed the man from the roof without injury.
One dog was found dead inside the home after the fire was out. Officials are still investigating the cause. Damages are estimated at $50,000.
A neighbor says the fire station is only a few blocks away, and they were able to respond quickly before the fire could spread to other homes in the neighborhood.
