UPDATE: Man tells police woman shot self but it was his fault

One woman is dead after a domestic-related shooting Saturday evening.
 
Around 6:17 p.m. police responded to a report that a woman had been shot near Salernes Street and Shinnecock Hills Avenue. 
 
Arriving officers located 27-year-old Ivan Cotton standing outside of a vehicle with the driver door open. Inside the vehicle was a woman suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. She was transported to the hospital where she died from her injuries.
 
According to the arrest report for Cotton, she was identified as Kaji Eliss Goode.
 
An investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department indicated that the victim and Cotton had been in a relationship for about one year. The victim was apparently shot while sitting in the driver's seat of the vehicle. A handgun was recovered at the scene. Cotton was arrested for one count of murder with a deadly weapon.
 
Cotton told police that his girlfriend had shot herself in the side but was his fault. He also said they had broken up and she was pregnant with his child.
 
According to his arrest report, he was heard on 911 saying, "God, I made a mistake, please reverse this, she doesn't deserve this."
