A valley man says he caught a woman stealing gas from his truck red-handed.

Feroze Alipore lives near Tropicana and the 95, and the truck he uses to run his small business was parked outside his house.

He captured the encounter with the apparent thief on his cell phone.

Alipore asked her what she was doing and she said she was leaving. That's when Alipore called police.

He says the woman drove away, taking a 10-gallon jug of gas with her.

"She damaged the hose probably. [That's] $100 or $200, and probably she took like $30, $40 of gas," Alipore said. "This is like my labor. Two or three days I have to work for that."

Alipore says a financial setback like that will put him behind on rent for the month.

A gasoline spill near the truck also had him worried about how dangerous it was for the gasoline to be transferred in such extreme heat.

"Those kinds of things are really dangerous, especially a big truck with 50 to 60 gallons of gas," Alipore said.

Alipore says his neighborhood has always been a quiet one and he's never seen any crime like that before.
