Las Vegas police say a man used a crowbar to break into a video poker machine on Thursday morning at a gas station near Durango Drive and Farm Road.

"It looked like somebody got upset after losing," says one customer, Ray Nichol.  "I didn't see anything crazy, it just looks like it's broken, like somebody tried to kick it in."

The man was able to escape with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was last seen leaving the gas station in an silver Mercedes with no license plates.

Police say the suspect is wanted in connection with 10 similar robberies, mostly on the northwest side of Las Vegas. The robberies began in May.

13 Action News spoke with an expert on gaming machines who says using a crowbar is both rare and difficult to do.

Most slot machines have layers of security. Not only would you have smash through the glass in this exact spot, you'd also have to get through this other layer and an alarm. And even when you get the cash box,  it's a challenge to open.
