Las Vegas police are investigating a homicide on the city's northeast side.

Patrol officers responded to a residence in the 4100 block of Eileen Street, near Walnut and Alexander roads, to investigate reports of a shooting on May 16 at approximately 7:20 p.m.

Arriving officers located an unresponsive male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound inside of the residence. Medical personnel transported the victim to UMC Trauma where he was later pronounced deceased. He was identified as 39-year-old Bradley E. Pacheco of Las Vegas.

Officers detained 23-year-old Russell Fotter on the scene for possibly being involved in the shooting.

Homicide detectives determined the victim and Fotter had been in a physical altercation inside of the residence. An elderly relative tried to break up the fight. That's when one of the men left the room and then returned with a gun and fired a single shot at the man he had been arguing with.
