'Top Chef' contestant and local chef Carla Pellegrino looking for cat killer

(KTNV) -- "Top Chef" contestant and local chef and restaurant owner Carla Pellegrino is looking for a cat killer.

According to radaronline.com, Pellegrino believes that her cat Miccio was poisoned and has filed a police report.

He died on Tuesday, March 19, while Pellegrino was on vacation.

Pellegrino has been posting about the situation on her Twitter.

Doug Duke, the executive director of the NSPCA, with the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals told Action News this morning that they are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.

Pellegrino is the owner of the popular restaurant Meatball Spot at Town Square.
