Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Students at Veterans Tribute Career & Technical Academy participated in a mock-scenario drill Thursday to test their law enforcement and emergency services skills.

The campus is for kids kids geared towards careers in law enforcement and emergency services. Students can take electives like criminal justice classes, crime scene investigation, and dispatch.

For Thursday's drill, the school partnered with community groups; Metro, Nevada Highway Patrol, and Medic-West are just some that participated.

"I get to pickup first hand critiques and compliments from people that are actually in this role," comments Alexandria Robertson, a junior at the school.

Robertson is playing the role of a CSI officer. She says she wants to join the police force when she graduates.

"They can tell me what to expect," says Robertson about today's drill. "They can tell me what I need to work on when I get to the academy."

The school does a school-wide scenario once a year. They also have regular training exercises as part of their individual classes.
