Demonstration shuts down traffic on the Las Vegas Strip
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A massive demonstration shut down traffic on Las Vegas Boulevard Wednesday evening.
Workers at the Cosmopolitan have been in contract negotiations for more than two years with no agreement reached.
Organizers planned what they call an act of "civil disobedience" to make their frustrations known.
Protesters included Cosmopolitan workers and members of the Culinary Union, joining in solidarity.
Hundreds gathered at about 5 p.m. on the Strip between Flamingo and Harmon. Both lanes of traffic were shut down.
Local authorities worked to control the crowds and maintain order as the group grew larger.
Action News has a crew at the scene and will update this story as new information becomes available.
