Retired Henderson firefighter sentenced for tax evasion
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A retired Henderson firefighter was sentenced to prison for tax evasion on Monday.
53-year-old Dwight C. Jackson was convicted of five counts of willful tax evasion and one count of filing a false and fictitious tax return.
Jackson was sentenced to 21 months in prison, three years of supervised release and was ordered to pay the IRS $177,310 in restitution.
Authorities said Jackson cheated on his taxes from 2004 through 2008 while employed as a firefighter with the City of Henderson.
Jackson must report to federal prison by July 24.
