Police search for man who tried to kidnap a six-year-old girl
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The search is on for a man who tried to abduct a six-year-old girl from a Henderson park.
Police were called to Mountain View Park on Wigwam Parkway near Valley Verde Drive at about 11:30 Sunday morning. The girl was there with her father.
While her dad was coaching practice on a nearby ball field, the child went to use the restroom.
Police say a man grabbed the child as she was leaving the restroom, and even though he covered her mouth with his hand, she was able to scream for help.
Henderson Police spokesman Keith Paul says the man let the girl go and left the scene.
He says, "The little girl had a scratch on her face, but otherwise was unharmed. Obviously she was extraordinarily shaken up"
The suspect is described as a white male in his late 20's or early 30's. He's about five feet seven to five feet, ten inches tall; weighing about 190 to 250 pounds. He has short, blonde hair, and blue or green eyes.
Police say the suspect could be driving a two door, older model Volkswagen that's either faded red or orange in color.
