More park plaque thefts reported
LAS VEGAS, NV (KTNV)--Thieves strike again! Another valley park is missing its memorial plaque. It's a sad trend we've been telling you about.
The latest plaque was stolen from Children's Memorial Park near Torrey Pines and Gowan. The plaque cost around $1,500 to $2,000. It's been missing since February.
More than 13 plaques have been taken from public parks. It's believed they are being taken for scrap metal, but the plaques would only be worth about $50.
People who spend time at the parks that have been hit are mad.
Area recycling yards have been put on notice in case the people taking the plaques tries to cash in on them locally.
