Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Henderson police are searching for a man who attempted to kidnap a 6-year-old girl at a park on Sunday.

Police say the girl was playing near the ball fields at Mountain View Park on Wigwam Way at about 11:30 a.m. while her father was coaching practice nearby. When she went to the restroom, a man confronted her, grabbed her and covered her mouth with his hand.

The girl was able to scream for help and run away with no injuries but a minor scratch.

Police are now searching for the man and asking for help from the public to find him.

He is described as Caucasian, in his late twenties or early thirties, 5'7" to 5'10", 190 to 250 pounds with short blonde hair and green or blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a short-sleeved checkered shirt, brown pants and gray tennis shoes. He was seen leaving the park in a two-door faded older-model Volkswagen, possibly a Golf.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
