Boulder City, NV (KTNV) -- Nevada reaffirmed its status as a leader in solar energy.
On Friday, Sempra Energy dedicated the first phase of the state's newest solar project near Boulder City.
The solar park is now one of the largest in the nation, and will eventually triple in size.
When Copper Mountain Solar 2 is finished in 2015, it will provide enough energy for 45,000 homes.
This phase of the project began more than a year ago and created more than 600 construction jobs.
