Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- An inmate is dead after an encounter with jail guards at the Clark County Detention Center, and his family said it was all caught on a surveillance camera.

The struggle with four jail guards left inmate Luis Solano unconscious just four days after he was booked on drug trafficking charges.

Solano was a Mexican national, but neither his family nor the Mexican consulate said they were notified about the incident.

Solano's daughter said jail surveillance tape of the incident would help them figure what happened to her father, but the family's attorney said so far Las Vegas police have not been willing to release that video.

"If they would just release that surveillance, there would be no question in my mind, but something happened there. A 38-year old man just doesn’t die out of nowhere," said Carmen Solano.

The Mexican consulate also voiced their displeasure with Metro for not notifying their office about Solano's arrest or the incident inside the detention center.

Action News contacted Metro for an interview, but they said, at this time, they will not be speaking publicly about the Solano incident.
