Son's girlfriend accused of stabbing Las Vegas woman
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A 20-year-old woman is facing a felony attempted murder charge in the stabbing of her boyfriend's mother in Las Vegas.
Records show that Chelsea Clark is being held at the Clark County jail pending an initial appearance in Las Vegas Justice Court.
Police say Clark told investigators she fought, bit and hit 43-year-old Teresa Witte with a lamp before neighbors called police about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday to the apartment west of downtown Las Vegas.
But Clark told police that Witte stabbed herself.
Police say the two were arguing about the arrest on Monday of Witte's 25-year-old son, Shawn Witte, on a drunk driving charge. That case is pending.
Police say Teresa Witte was hospitalized in critical condition, and investigators reported finding a bloody 9-inch chef's knife in the apartment.
