Bicyclist critically injured in hit-and-run
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A bicyclist is in critical condition after being struck by a car on Wednesday afternoon near Rainbow and Alta.
Police were called to the intersection at about 2:45 p.m.
Police said it appeared the bicyclist was heading east on Alta when the driver of the car passed by, striking the bicyclist and knocking him down.
The bicyclist, a 53-year-old Las Vegas man, fell to the ground and sustained critical injuries.
The driver of the car fled the scene. The vehicle is described as a gray or silver four-door sedan. Anyone with information on the driver's whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
