Nevada exports grow 28 percent in 2012
CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) -- Officials say Nevada was one of eleven states to see double-digit growth in its exports in 2012.
The U.S. Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration says Nevada's exports grew 28 percent last year compared with 2011. That puts it in third place among the top export growth states last year.
Gov. Brian Sandoval says expanding the state's global impact has been a priority for his administration, and lauded the news as a sign that Nevada's economy is headed in the right direction.
He noted he's the first Nevada governor to head a governor-led overseas trade mission. He went to China and South Korea in the fall.
