Las Vegas expected to hit 80 degrees this week

 Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Temperatures in Las Vegas are expected to hit 80 degrees this week for the first time in 2013.

Chief Meteorologist Bryan Scofield predicts temperatures will peak at 75 degrees on Tuesday before reaching 80 on Wednesday. 

The last time it reached 80 degrees in Las Vegas was on November 7, 2012.

According to the National Weather Service, the average first date for Las Vegas to reach 80 degrees or higher is March 16. The earliest 80-degree day was February 1 of 2003.

The warm weather is expected to continue throughout the week, with a high of 80 degrees on Thursday and 81 degrees on Friday.
