Las Vegas Restaurant Week helping the hungry
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- If you need a good reason to let someone else cook tonight, it's Las Vegas Restaurant Week.
You wouldn't think chefs at restaurants on the Las Vegas Strip would think much about hunger, but chef Noe Alcala with Hussong's Cantina has been to Three Square Food Bank.
"I've been in their warehouse and you'd be amazed at how much food they have and how much they do for the community," said Alcala.
So when they asked him to participate in Restaurant Week, he didn't hesitate. He came up with a special lunch and dinner menu to serve to his customers.
"For us, it's not really how much money we're going to make, because it doesn't matter. It's how much can we give out," said Alcala.
According to Three Square, more than 340,000 people in our Valley are struggling with hunger. That's about one in every six people.
