Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Rain has forced the cancellation of qualifying and practices on Friday at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for NASCAR drivers.

The race track was almost dry, when rain hit the speedway again.

NASCAR canceled the qualifying for the Kobalt Tools 400, which is scheduled to take place Sunday.

A point system was used to set the drivers in their positions for Sunday's race.

Here are the standings for Sunday's race:

1. Brad Keselowski (Car No. 2)
2. Clint Bowyer (Car No. 15)
3. Jimmie Johnson (Car No. 48)
4. Kasey Kahne (Car No. 5)

Las Vegas native Kyle Bush (Car No. 18) is in position 13.

NASCAR is hoping to continue with qualifying and practices later in the day, depending on the weather.

Gates at the speedway are still scheduled to open Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. for the Sam's Town 300 and the Kobalt Tools 400 is still on for Sunday.

Anyone who purchased a Friday-Only Grandstand Ticket will get a refund. Those who bought a Friday Neon Garage Pass will be able to use it on Saturday.

Action News will post information on any further cancellations at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
