2 Nevada women plead guilty in $1M Medicaid fraud
RENO, Nev. (AP) -- Two Nevada women have pleaded guilty to federal charges in a scheme to defraud the state's Medicaid program out of approximately $1 million.
U.S. Attorney Dan Bogden says 48-year-old Cassandra Little of Reno pleaded guilty to 28 counts of health care fraud and 10 counts of money laundering, and 65-year-old Susan Hill of Las Vegas pleaded guilty to one count of each.
Federal prosecutors say Hill served as the president and Little worked as a social worker for a company they set up to fraudulently bill the state for expensive therapy-related services and basic skills training which never were provided.
Both face up to 30 years in prison and fines totaling as much as $750,000.
They are scheduled to be sentenced July 23 in U.S. District Court in Reno.
