Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A teenager was taken to the hospital early Thursday evening after jumping out of a window to escape a fire.
Fire dispatchers received numerous calls at about 5:42 p.m. that a house in the 3100 block of Ocean Port Drive had heavy black smoke coming from it.
The home is located in the Lakes area near South Fort Apache Road and Lake South Drive.
Dispatchers also received a call from someone in the house that a sofa was on fire in the family room.
Upon arrival, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue found heavy smoke and flames at a two-story wood-frame house. It took about 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Damage from the fire is estimated at $150,000.
The condition of the teenager is unknown.
