Sister of Henderson murder-suicide victim speaks out
Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- Action News has learned more about the woman killed earlier this week in what Henderson Police are calling a murder-suicide.
The sister of victim Renee Bassett said Bassett's two sons were her passion.
Henderson Police said Bassett's ex-husband shot and killed her on Tuesday, before turning the gun on himself, all while their 13-year-old son was home.
The motive for the shooting is still unclear.
Bassett was a dentist with her own practice.
The family has now set up an "Education Trust Fund" for the couple's sons, ages 12 and 13.
Donations can be made to the "Renee Bassett Memorial Fund" at any Wells Fargo Bank. Account Number: 1255159814.
The family told Action News Bassett will be laid to rest on Saturday, March 9 at 9:30 a.m.
The funeral will be held at Christ the King Church at 4925 South Torrey Pines Drive, near Tropicana Avenue.
