First 1,500 people admitted free during children museum's grand opening
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The brand-new Discovery Children's Museum will open its doors at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at the Donald W. Reynolds Discovery Center in Symphony Park adjacent to the Smith Center.
The first 1,500 guests will receive free admission.
The museum is located in a three-story tall, 58,000-square-foot building. It features nine themed exhibition halls of all-new interactive exhibits.
The exhibits demonstrate the museum's core educational values of science, arts and culture and early childhood development programming.
The new museum has also dedicated 5,000 square foot to traveling exhibits.
The first main exhibit is titled "Discover The Real George Washington: New Views from Mount Vernon." It will be featured through May 15, 2013.
General admission is $12. Members and children under one are admitted free. The museum is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays; and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
