TSA lifiting ban on small knives on airplanes
(KTNV) -- People here in Nevada are speaking out tonight about security changes at the airport.
After cracking down on airport security following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the TSA is now easing up on what items are prohibited on airplanes.
The change will now allow passengers to bring small knives with blades that are six centimeters or short and less than half-an-inch in width onto airplanes.
In addition, passengers will be allowed to bring ski poles, golf clubs, hockey sticks and other sporting equipment.
People at Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport are split on how they feel about the changes.
"The knives scare me. The other things don't really frighten me as much but to think that somebody could have a knife on a plane is a little unsettling," said Kris Morris.
