Police looking for driver after pedestrian killed crossing Torrey Pines

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas police are looking for a driver that left the scene after striking a pedestrian cross Torrey Pines Drive at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

According to witness statements and evidence at the scene, the pedestrian was crossing Torrey Pines Drive about 124 feet north of Casada Way, near West Charleston Boulevard, when the person was struck.

The vehicle is described as a dark colored mid to large size SUV.

The vehicle was last seen traveling northbound on Torrey Pines Drive.

The Clark County coroner's office will release the identity of the pedestrian after the family has been notified.

The is the 23rd traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction in 2013.
