Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The local Bible study leader that was originally arrested in January on several counts of sexual assault and lewdness with a young boy is now facing additional charges in a third case.

Shortly after David James' arrest in January by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, detectives with the Henderson Police Department became aware of allegations of similar crimes.

As a result, James was charged by Henderson with ten counts of lewdness with a minor under 14 and four counts of sexual assault.

On Feb. 24, James was once again re-booked by LVMPD and charged with nine counts of lewdness with a minor under the age of 14.

The original case in January resulted in ten counts of sexual assault against a victim under 14, two counts of sexual assault against a victim under 16, and ten counts of lewdness with a minor under 14.

It is believed that James used the Bible study classes that he led at several different religious centers in the Las Vegas valley to gain access to his victims.

The investigation also revealed that James had been a participant in a basketball league that included both children and adult players.

James is currently at the Clark County Detention Center.

The investigation is still open and both the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and Henderson police are asking anyone who has concerns that their child may have been a victim to contact them. LVMPD can be reached at (702) 828-3421 or Henderson police at (702) 267-4750.
